The Sea Merchant is a proud small Tassie business based in the heart of Penguin. Filled with beautiful homewares, gifts, plants, flowers, jewellery, accessories and so much more! Our gorgeous store in Penguin is a must-visit destination!

The Sea Merchant was opened in 2024, by owner, Olivia Bugelli. 

It was created by a love of the ocean and all things sea inspired. Olivia is a Ocean lover, Scuba Dive instructor, Boat Captain, Life Saver, Florist and interior design enthusiast. She had the idea of opening an ocean themed store after finding it very difficult to style her own beachy home. 

"My own home is very beachy, and when I was doing the interior styling of my home, I found it really hard to source coastal products from within Tasmania. This inspired me to create a shop that had a coastal theme, and so far it’s proved to be popular there are a lot of ocean lovers out there!"
